just saw an alert that there haven't been any new cases springing from the pool party in the Ozarks attended by hundreds about 14 days ago.

That would bode well for us going forward.

I hope that is true!

Do they know when the 1 positive case got it? Like was he infected/contagious while at the party?

The best news would be that he was, because it would give further evidence of outdoor transmission being significantly lower risk than initial estimates, even with little to no social distancing.

Great news.

Later, a Missouri man who spent time at one of the pool bars over the holiday weekend was found to be positive for the novel virus, potentially exposing hundreds of others. But on Wednesday, Dr. Randall Williams, director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, said state health officials are not currently aware of any additional cases linked to the pool parties.

Meanwhile, Dr. Alex Garza, commander of the St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force, expressed cautious optimism, noting officials "will give it a couple more days" to see if any infections linked to the pool parties emerge, he said during the briefing.

Cell phone data showed that patrons of one bar went to 14 different states in the days after that infected person attended.

If they were there for the holiday weekend there wouldn't necessarily be a lot of cases staying in the Ozarks except for employees?

Of course. It's just interesting that from one bar 14 states were potentially affected.

Also possible, given most of those folks were young that few got tested and some are asymptomatic? Let's hope for the best though.

Agreed, I think pre-covid it definitely was taken for granted how intertwined our world is
