"Knowledge continues to develop. We get to know more and more, and today we think we know that you become immune after an infection, just like with many other infectious diseases," Swedish chief epidemiologist Anders Tegnell said.

Hmmm.. Sputnik news is literally Russian state owned propaganda.

Is there another source for this?

I'm sure most epidemiologists, virologists, and Drs think that recovered COVID patients will be immune. The questions are, how strongly and for how long.

There still seems to be a lot unknown about the mild/asymptomatic cases. It's not clear to me if those people would gain a lot of immunity.

He is Sweden's Dr. Fauci, but I can't find that quote anywhere else:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-52903717

Quote:

Sweden's controversial decision not to impose a strict lockdown in response to the Covid-19 pandemic led to too many deaths, the man behind the policy, Anders Tegnell, has acknowledged.

Sweden has seen a far higher mortality rate than its nearest neighbours and its nationals are being barred from crossing their borders.

Dr Tegnell told Swedish radio more should have been done early on.

"There is quite obviously a potential for improvement in what we have done."
When asked if too many people had died too soon, Dr Tegnell said, "Yes, absolutely."

He was referring to elder care facilities, he admitted they didn't do a good job there in the beginning.

Agree, trying to find it elsewhere.

Dr. Coates referenced a study that proved some immunity in his posts.

I have found no known virus in my research that doesn't provide some immunity after infection.

Would be interesting if someone with knowledge could post about that.

I did read where some people who were infected with the last sars virus had some immunity for years.

Question, if you react mildly due you even need a big immunity response or are you already some what protected due to your immune system already? Seems some people are immune to covid already maybe?

From http://www.technologyreview.com/2020/04/27/1000569/how-long-are-people-immune-to-covid-19/:
Quote:

What the Columbia researchers now describe in a preliminary report is cause for concern. They found that people frequently got reinfected with the same coronavirus, even in the same year, and sometimes more than once. Over a year and a half, a dozen of the volunteers tested positive two or three times for the same virus, in one case with just four weeks between positive results.

...

For the coronaviruses "immunity seems to wane quickly," says Jeffrey Shaman, who carried out the research with Marta Galanti, a postdoctoral researcher.
Note, it is the coronaviruses that have been around a while, not covid-19, that they are talking about here.
