Several people I know well have come down recently with a 24 to 48 hour gastric bug that caused multiple rounds of diarrhea. Other than that and the cramping, that has been the only issue they have had.

My father had it so bad that his electrolytes went out of whack, which caused his BP to go out of whack. Negative test for Covid.

So what is this thing?

In Houston, Have had a stomach virus since Wednesday afternoon, no other symptoms other than severe stomach cramping.

In Houston, my son had the same symptoms. Vomiting and diarrhea, no fever. Went through in 48 hours. Our doc said they've seen a lot of it. Got a COVID test as a precaution and it was negative.

I'm seeing a lot of employees with these same symptoms only. Horrible timing with COVID.

I know some people in the metroplex that got the stomach bug and they were told it is going around up there too.

I'm in DFW and I'm on day 3 of what I hope is only this stomach bug.It has been tiring.I had low grade fever day one (Wednesday) but temp has been perfect yesterday and today. Only symptoms are gastric and the dehydration risk that comes with it, and of course being tired. Any thoughts from the board are appreciated.

In DFW, yes. Early last week. I thought it was food poisoning at first (Mexican, but not Pancho's), but lasted 2-3 days. Took several days to start feeling better. Symptoms consistent with above, but no fever.

AG 05, were you able to be outside in the heat by day 4? I have plans for tomorrow evening but they're in doubt right now.

We've had more flies and such inside our house in Houston than usual (which is zero) for a few weeks - this is common?

Did any of you go get covid tested during or after this bug? I'm being told by a friend that these symptoms are identical to a family member who tested positive.

My father was tested, negative for Covid. And that test was done at an ICU unit.

3 of my 4 have had it, starting last week.

I just got over it.

More people spending more time cooking outdoors? I have definitely noticed more flies lately, but my front and back doors get opened a lot more now that we're working from home, so there's a greater chance that they get in the house.

We have done some tracing of this virus within our family and are realizing this has been slowly passed around starting on June 10. Our daughter was sick with this from June 10-12, but we hadn't thought much about it since she only had the stomach issues, no exhaustion. I will chalk that up to the fact that she is a competitive swimmer in incredible shape, so it didn't exhaust her like it did me (desk jockey) and my wife. However, me, my wife and my daughter all had fever on day one that came and quickly went.

Worst case scenario!

Wife had something the other day. No one else caught it though.
