Finally received a positive COVID test result today after getting tested on 6/18.

My first symptoms were a cough and body aches on 6/15. Woke up with sweats and a fever on 6/16 and that lasted through about 6/17. Never broke 101F. I also had a weird lower back pain for a couple days and extreme fatigue.

Cough and fever subsided on 6/18 but decided to get tested anyway. By 6/19 the only symptoms I had was nasal congestion (this is when I figured I didn't have COVID cause didn't think nasal congestion was really a symptom).

I was 100% by 6/22. Never lost my sense of smell or taste. Figured I'd share my experience cause I was always curious myself.

Male 30s.

Thanks for sharing and glad you are better. Do you have any idea how/where you contracted it? If so, would you mind sharing? Just curious if people are contracting it at places like the grocery store or had prolonged contact with someone that ended up positive.

I unfortunately have no idea how/where I contracted it. I played golf a couple times and went to a few restaurants the week before I got sick. You could possibly classify one of those restaurants as a bar also so maybe I got it there? I didn't go to the grocery store and have been working from home for the last few months.

I am also not aware of any friends or family that are positive.

I tested positive as well and your symptoms were basically the same as mine. I thought the lower back pain was strange and didn't realize it was a symptom of covid, but another poster here said he experienced the same thing. The back pain really hurt, it was hard to do basic things like bend over, move something, twist and turn etc.

Agree that the back pain was odd and probably the most strange thing I experienced.

Please search out your local blood center and register to donate convalescent plasma. You are eligible with your positive test and at least 14 days since cessation of symptoms.

Orders for this product have increased nearly 4x over the past couple of weeks.

I'm happy to help walk you through the process.

Your symptoms sound almost exactly as to what my 18 yr old son has been experiencing, all the way down with the 101 temp and lower back issues. He even thinks he got it playing golf (that guy tested positive last week).

So far, nobody else here is sick.....

Watching interactions at several golf courses over the last week or so, that honestly wouldn't shock me.

Yes I'm interested. Do you happen to have a website handy? I live in the Houston area.

I've played so much golf over the last two months I'm having lower back pain without the covid.

On a serious note...Curious what "interactions" on the golf course seem susceptible to transmission ? Seems like Walking or one per cart , outdoors , naturally distanced , etc. appear to mitigate risk factors. I realize there is some shared touching of the flag stick/cup. I've fist bumped for a few good shots but no handshaking and/or hugging or sharing drinks/clubs etc.

My brother was diagnosed on Friday 6/26. His symptoms are basically identical to what you described. Tired, achy, and mild fever that lasted a few days. His symptoms started on Thursday and he's felt a little better each day since his positive test on Friday. He's 42 and in good physical shape.

I've reached a dead end in my desire to donate my plasma.

I live in the Knoxville area, and I donate a double unit of platelets every month. I was diagnosed positive for Covid-19 on May 4. Was released by the Health Department on May 15. The local blood organization said I could not donate for another 28 days from May 15. Also, they needed a Letter of Attestment from the Health Department. When I called the Health Department, they didn't know what I was talking about. Also, the blood bank won't test for the antibodies, because they said the test was not approved by the FDA.

So I did donate recently, but it was a double platelet. Still wish I could donate plasma, as the numbers have been spiking of late.

By the way Avid, glad you are well. I didn't have lower back pain. My muscle pain was concentrated in my neck and shoulders.

That sucks. I'm sorry to hear. Like anything g else, sometimes our industry makes things to difficult and create our own barriers to success.

Thanks for continuing with platelets. Their need never ends.
