How long after your last fever, cough, headache are you still contagious?
And if you are physically fine/recovered but still have a loss of taste or smell, are you still contagious?

That article doesn't really answer the question. They think two weeks, but aren't sure lol. Basically they have no idea.

I read somewhere that the virus stops shedding 7-8 days after first symptoms and you aren't contagious after that, but who knows. I was around someone 7 days after I got symptoms and she never got covid (I tested positive). I've been around a few others 2-3 weeks after First symptoms and they never got it either. So that's my scientific analysis lol.

Ya, I saw that article too. I was just hoping for a further explanation or something more recent, but thanks!

Current CDC guidelines are >10 days from symptom onset (or from the first positive test for asymptomatic patients) and >72 hours afebrile with improving symptoms. This is base largely on the fact that nobody has been able to culture live virus from patients who are beyond 9 days from the onset of symptoms.

It's on the CDC website. As stated above 10d since s/s began. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/end-home-isolation.html

That said, for some reason I have had a lot of patients who have been tested positive and told 2 weeks. I am not sure who is telling them this or why.
