Posted this on the travel forum, but thought I'd also ask here. Wife and I considering a weekend trip out to Jefferson, TX.

For those of you traveling, which do you think is the better option these days, a small Air BnB or one of the small hotels in Jefferson? Or would you really not see a difference between the 2 right now?

I did a small AirBNB, took my own cleaning supplies and wiped everything down when I got there. Even with a small hotel you are around more people and you will be touching common surfaces. Plus, hotels tend to have higher turn over.

It's a tough call. I've been in some really dirty Air B&B's a couple of times the past few years where it was obvious the only cleaning done prior to us checking in was pulling up the comforter (sheets weren't clean), emptying trash can, and replacing towels. It all just depends on the cleaning service and how involved the owners are.

I mean I have to assume the trade-off is a dirtier room vs a shared ductwork. Pick your poison. Me, I'd go with a single HVAC system myself. Some small hotels do have that. Call and ask.

Wiping down everything is a good option in hotels with or without a pandemic. Jmo.

Good point about the single HVAC system.
