I don't even know how to respond other than, if this turns out to be largely true...we'll be ruined economically and it won't matter if we quarantine, social distance, mask, etc.

It's possible to catch chicken pox twice as well. But no one with a serious case ever does

People with mild or asymptomatic cases may not generate much of an immune response. Vaccine should still work though since early reports are that it generates a strong immune response.

that doctor seems pretty skeptical about vaccines

I guess it's PPE and no social gatherings for years(?)

IF it's as bad as people say and little to no immunity and no vaccine...Not everyone will. A lot won't...might as well open it all up and have some fun!

When you look at the hard evidence, which I can't believe A lot of people don't.

Countries like France, Sweden, Italy, Spain, and others are pretty much over covid. Why are we not seeing positive reports about that?

No reinfections reported, death rates dropping, curves looking better every week now.

Just take a look for yourselves and make your own judgement.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/sweden/

It burns through a population in about 12-14 weeks after major infection starts and then it subsided fairly fast.

Where would you say we are in that 12-14 week period?

I hold to this theory as well, I'm just trying to figure out where we are on the infection curve.

Exactly. New York just had their first day since March without a death.

Different states are on different curves.

What's particularly stupid about this is that if you don't have a durable immune response, that implies that a vaccine is probably a fantasy too. Also, mild cases may be because younger people have some form of immunity already. People being "reinfected" is probably mostly bad tests. The tests may just be picking up left over particles of the virus but not an active infection. I wouldn't take anything seriously unless there's actual evidence for it. And for most viruses, you have some kind of immunity when you recover.

I am guessing we are 3-4 weeks into it now. Should see significant tailing off in August, I am purely guessing. If the boarder with mexico was shut tight it would probably go much faster.

For those who think that covid-19 is a mild flu, there is a report of a new study that found cardiac irregularities in half of covid-19 patients tested. i don't know if it just includes patients admitted to the hospital.

Those who are trying to downplay the significance of covid-19 need to realize that there is far more to it than simply the death rate.

This will be debunked just like "kawasaki disease in kids" etc. etc. The key question is for how long? It's only been a few months at most for people.

Half of those tested have heart problems? Please post the link, I would like to read it. What was the test sample? Age group? Existing conditions? Where and when was this done? Where are the patients now? Also, I get a head cold at least twice a year (form of corona), it is not un reasonable to think that you can get it again. Same thing with the flu. I just choose not to live in fear of a virus no matter what they call it.

I am sure Vox set out to find a doctor to fit their narrative.

I am firmly in the camp That understands how serious covid is
I am also in the camp that believes that there are a lot of doom and gloom types that are giddy as hell over this and wanting the worst theories to be true and downplay any good news

Actually, they found cardiac irregularities in half of the COVID patients given a heart scan.

Doctors give patients echocardiograms only when they suspect there is a problem with the heart, so the high number of abnormalities is not unexpected. How common heart damage is in Covid-19 patients more generally is unclear.

Yep both can be true.

I am trying back into the math here . . . . .1200 scans and 55% of them showed some damage. 1/7th showing significant abnormalities.

So 660 with some some damage and 170 with significant abnormalities.

Do you apply that to the 13 Million Plus confirmed cases globally? The study covered 69 countries. That is 0.005% of cases. This assumes that the the number of confirmed cases is accurate and not an under-count.

The heart scan is a test, isn't it?
