What are the options for people who lost someone to COVID or during these times? With group sizes being limited and all. Are viewings even allowed? Lost a good cousin of mine to COVID and I'm wondering if I'm even going to be allowed to go. Don't want to ask the family as this just happened.

It'll depend on what the family arranges with the funeral home. A friend lost her husband in a car accident in June and they were able to have an outside military funeral with plenty of people. My understanding is that there is some latitude but it's at request of the family.

A co-worker died from other causes right when the quarantine began. The funeral was held with only close family members at the grave site and a memorial service occurred a few months later at his church. At the memorial service, masks were required and social distancing was enforced. The church broadcast the memorial service live on Facebook for those who could not attend.

Thanks for the information. We a family cemetery so I don't see the burial being a problem, but wasn't sure what will happen as far as services and viewing. This sucks

Going to be a graveside only with family, for sure a bad time to have someone pass.

My grandmothers funeral was today. Everything was normal other than having to wear a mask and spaced out seating. We were able to have a viewing, chapel service, and graveside service.

My mom passed away a couple months ago. The size of the funeral was limited to 25% of the normal capacity. For us, that was like 40 people, including staff. We brought in someone to live stream the funeral for family that couldn't be there.
