Looks like daily new Covid hospitalizations are slowly coming down. While they are using some surge beds for ICU, it looks like they are pretty hopeful they won't have to go to phase 3 surge, at least not anytime soon.

I'm looking for data on their average length of stay for these patients, I think that's just as important as new admissions. I don't think anyone is publishing this information. Anecdotally the hospital stays are getting slightly shorter, but no real way to know without the data.

Great news, we went from 10+% to 4% of phase 2 in the last few days. Now if we can not **** up and everyone go running back to bars etc

Haha, I can't even imagine how long Abbott waits to open bars this time around. I wouldn't even look for it until Sept.

I have a problem with their data reporting. As soon as there are negative results, the reporting graphs are changed or deleted.

Spit balling here.

Is it possible the new hospitalizations went down due to stricter requirements/less availability? I've seen that theory but sounds farfetched.

Not sure if this is what you meant, but do people still believe doctors are admitting COVID patients unnecessary to make more money?

No, we're saying they sure as hell aren't pulling a NY and turning away needy patients because there might be room need issues later on. We're better at treating so hospitalization rates are half of what they were in April. Death rates everywhere except the killing grounds of NY and NJ are exponentially better than April. See Dr. Coats on here successful treating 100+ and none needing hospitalization for any.

It's almost as bad as people trying to blame the phase 2 opening in the spike.

We're beyond the peak and trending down here in the 4th largest city in the country and most populous county in the state. We had more frequent and largest attended protests in the state (starting 5/27/20) in addition to the funeral for Mr. Floyd on 6/9/20. Texas reopening phase 2 (restaurants and bars to 50%) was before that on May 18.

I have no doubt reopening added cases and hospitalizations. The goal of flattening the curve was never to stop anyone from getting the disease, but to spread those cases out over a longer period. According to the chart a small uptick in hospitalizations followed the 14-21 days after reopening (green). The plan was working fine. Then the spike following the 14-21 days after the protests started (red).

The issue waren't reopening. Stay with the original plan that was and will work as long as there are no more wide spread disregard for the plan (protests).

That's an odd statement.
