Do any of you work for facilities offering hazard pay for frontline staff or know anyone that is getting it?

Our policy right now is that anyone caring for patients have been given the proper PPE and there is no increased hazard. Therefore, no hazard pay. We also have no choice whether we float to the Covid unit or not. Many of us younger folks have volunteered but we don't get to make the final call.

They are having to give massive shift bonuses though due to (ironically) many staff out with Covid infections. I suppose this kind of works itself out, but only if you agree to work overtime.

My kids received hazard pay in their service industry jobs for the first two or three months of this, but it's gone now. It was an extra $1 per hour.

My hospital only gives hazard pay if that nurse is working overtime on the COVID unit. Regular pay until over authorized hours.

We have nurses being forced to float unless you have a legit health reason. But my unit sends our nurses to be "observers" and not doing patient care. More like tech work because of our skill set.

In Austin, city office workers got hazard pay. First responders did not.

Reporting to work almost everyday since this all started. No hazard pay.

Beauty of being an independent contractor when you're in demand. Raise your fees as much as you feel is warranted by the situation and make them say no. I'm bringing in more now than ever before, in a low risk area and arguably the most beautiful part of the country. Life is good.

Yikes that's tough. ID is only formally seeing the hypoxic patients now at our facilities, because unfortunately we still get a decent number of non-hypoxic patients admitted to obs. The volume especially at Parkland is just too great to formally evaluate all of them.

What is e and m?

I'm an essential worker in the construction industry, we did not get hazard pay nor am I or my team looking for it. We are greatful for our jobs, blessed that they are still going, and that's about it. Unless you are a medical professional I just don't see the need. I've flown on 60 flights this year and most of the social distancing was no issue.

Wife is getting an additional 7%. She was the first one brought back from furlough.

Medical/health industry, but not first responder type, though she does interact 1 on 1 with patients all day.

Standard insurance billing for visit.

This is why I will never work for a hospital. I can decide if I want to subject myself to inpatient consults or stick to outpatient work. Some specialties lend themselves more to this than others. Sorry you have to deal with that crap.

Wife and I are both considered essential employees and neither of us have gotten any kind of compensation. Due to business most of my companies employees have received a pay cut
