Much theorized, now there seems to be some evidence.

I've made several comments about this theory and how there might be an unintended consequence to kids by shutting schools down.

Besides the increase in anxiety disorders, depression, and risk of suicide, domestic abuse, or malnutrition?

Yeah, i'd say there are a whole lot of unintended consequences.

Does this mean parents of young children are better protected? Lord knows my little germ factories get me sick at least once a semester.

I have suspected this for awhile. I also suspect that people that are regularly around young children might have the same or at least boosted immunity.

Here is why: I have been working in childcare and substitute teaching for almost 20 years. I was sick A LOT the first couple of years. Now I hardly get sick at all even though I have an autoimmune disease and take immunosuppressants. I know it is anecdotal, but I know many who work regularly around children with the same story.

I do not fault any school staff, admin, etc. that have a fear of catching it and are weary to be there in-person. However, I do wonder if they have more fight in them against it since they are around kids so much.

If this is true, then we need to keep kids exposed to continue their boosted immunity not only to COVID but other common cold viruses.

100% correct.

School is an essential part of building a healthy immune system.

What we are considering doing is unprecedented for children

Let's not risk it
