So my wife has non allergic asthma and vit d deficiency and fibromyalgia so we've been careful.

17 days ago she gets a sore throat, ears bothering her then body aches. She also felt like her mental faculties werent their sharpest, trouble finding words..etc.

On day 7 after these symptoms started she started having a fever and on day 9 she called the Dr and got tested for Covid.

Test came back a few days ago, negative

So now its like day 10 or something of these low grade fevers. She doesn't think she's ever had a fever more than a few days and certainly not 10 days.

But covid is negative. Seems like an odd time to have a weird sickness but its not covid

More **** than covid going on. Then again, they said "flu-b" was unusually contagious with a high sever sick rate. Tinfoil says, keep your eyes and mind open.

Not with 10 days of fever. A lot of her symotoms could be fibromyalgia

But 10 days of fever is unique

Colds don't act like what the OP is describing. But its not typical of the rona either.

I feel like these questions should be directed towards your wife's doctor and not a message board. Seems like she may need medical attention.

I don't know how often false negatives are occurring, but they are occurring. I think y'all should consult her physician, but I also think you should consider another test.

She should go see her doctor, not just over the phone or Zoom.

My sister in Houston had the exact same symptoms that lasted a few weeks and went away. She was covid negative and live in Houston. Random stuff still going around

Well, at least not a brand new thread but can definitely on Reveille's physician thread. That way you're sure he and other MD's will seem it and respond.

Maybe get a second test. Isn't the false negative test rate pretty high?

What is the fever range? 99+ or 100+.

I would get tested again if it's 100+. I would also think about trying a different thermometer. If she has a doctor she sees to manage everything, I would check in with them.

Sounds like a bad test.
Hopefully she is on the end side of whatever it is and feeling better soon.

My wife had it... 15 days of fever, cough, body aches and loss of taste. Her 1st test was negative. She is a healthcare worker, so we were fairly certain she had it. Her 2nd yest came back positive.
My advice is to keep testing. The false negative rate is still high. Also, the home test kit from Labcorp/Pixel is very easy and convenient.

I think she hit 101 once but otherwise she takes something to reduce fever when it gets over 99.

Average has probably been 99.5

It wasnt a antibody test but one that tests for the virus directly

Good to hear it's likely not serious. Hope she feels better real soon.

It would worry me anytime - but in these times, it's significantly more so

Yeah...what i told her was awfully coincidental to have your first ever multi day fever much less going on multi week during a pandemic when thats one of the symptoms

That said she's way too far into it at this point to rhink we gotta worry about hospitalizations or anything id think

We we're actually hoping for a positive test because she had had symptoms for so long at that point

Her breathing was a little weird i guess ill say early on. It wasnt like her normal asthma but she used the enhaler. That symptom seems to have largely gone away

Friendly reminder that a true fever is greater than or equal to 100.4 F.

Not that it really matters tho cuz if you are 99.9 and feel hot and ill, you gots something going on.

After something like 35 days of fever, 3 negative tests for covid

Wife got a positive test result for West Nile, which was good considering some of the other things they were testing for in this last batch

Dam so West Nile was the culprit .. we all seem to be focused on Covid but there are a lot of other viruses floating around that we seem to forget about

Interesting.

We have had several WBV's pop up in people's blood donations here recently. Mosquitos are terrible this year, so not too surprised

Neighbor thought he had it, tests all negative finally found he had typhus! I don't think I have ever heard of anyone getting typhus in south Texas but apparently it is also out there.

You haven't? I grew up in the Valley and every summer or fall I knew someone with it. The last year I lived there I got it. My God it was awful. The headaches were the WORST!

And you didn't catch it? That's great news!
