we can't have sport seasons if cancelling games for sickness....... we have to get our mentality corrected or all activities will be cancelled .... forever(???)

If the other team does not catch it, they should begin allowing asymptomatic players to continue to play.

Other teams have played with isolated positive cases, this is a situation where a significant portion of the playrs and coaches are positive. It's the worst case scenario.

German pro soccer had an outbreak in a 2nd division team prior to games restarting in May. They quarantined, rescheduled 2 games, and life went on. Might've been the wake up call the rest of the league needed to stay vigilant.

Hopefully this is a similar wake up call for US sports and we can keep things going.

Easier when you only have a game or two on 8-14 days and not 10+ games

Yes, but they do have taxi squads for this contingency, I believe. May still take a few days to confirm who on the active roster is not positive, but I wouldn't think it would take 2 weeks to do that. Certainly, it's easier to deal with in a once or twice a week sport like soccer (which bodes well, relatively speaking, for football).

That's certainly true... and they also lucked out that their first week of quarantine was prior to the restart of games, so it was only 1 week's worth of games to reschedule.

I could get even more pessimistic about the contrasts but I'm trying really hard to be positive here, for once.

Now that JV is questionable I say we end the season and just give us the trophy

Increase the roster and keep 10-15 AAA caliber guys practicing at home. If you have an outbreak swap them in for a week with no restrictions on call-ups other than starting pitcher has to go on covid related IR a minimum of 5 games.

I think it might affect future contracts in pro sports because they do not know what the long term affects of virus. Who wants to pay athlete megabucks when they are reduced to 94% capacity after contracting virus and are reduced to the level of your above average AAA player.
