That's fine, but this doesn't show nothing gets out. You need only a single droplet to catch it, I'm sure single ones are coming out. I'm not saying masks aren't effective, simply this is for entertainment and proves nothing. Frankly, I think propaganda like this hurts the truth. But, it was entertaining.

If you have no other option to sustain yourself, I guess.

But realistically if you cough you're still spewing particles out the sides of the mask. In the operating room, when surgeons cough the cough facing the patient and the surgical field, because it's protected. They don't turn away because they don't want particles coming out the sides towards the surgical field.

Also, people touch their face a lot and if you're sick you may not realize how much your touch your face, your phone, and other contaminated objects and then touch things in the store.


I actually think this video is genius. Some people don't understand droplets growing in a petridish into bacterial colonies. This is much more real world.

Plenty of more scientific videos out there. Some more than others. Of course, science is typically published in the form of journal, not youtube videos. If someone chooses to dismiss a concept because it has been put into video format for the layman, without looking for the journals that disucss the same concepts, they probably aren't going to care about the science anyways.
