Bio: 39yo male, non-smoker (including weed), no vaping, very active and in shape, history of exercise-induced asthma, use an albuterol inhaler maybe twice / day prior to working out.

Last Sunday 7/26 I took my mom to Idaho Springs for dinner and drinks.

Afterwards I felt a bit bloated and nauseous, but figured it might have been the fried trout or elk stew.

Monday I felt pretty normal, but after eating dinner with a few friends and again felt nauseous.

Woke up Tuesday morning feeling kind of hungover, even though I didn't drunk much the night before. That afternoon I felt a bit tired, loss of appetite, and woke up in the middle of the night coughing, and felt like crap.

Wednesday morning wasn't horrible, but by Wednesday evening felt like I had the flu, with fever and chills and sweating. Took full spectrum CBD oil (80 mg) to help me sleep.

Thursday was just as bad with all the symptoms: loss of appetite, fatigue, soreness, chills, sweating, dry deep cough, intense headache, abdominal pain. My mom dropped off a care package, and I started taking zinc and vitamin c, and then severe cold and cough + CBD oil to help me sleep and contain the coughing.

Friday a little better, same daytime vitamin regimen, and then by the afternoon, it was confirmed.

I made a hot toddy, took a deep smell of the cinnamon, whiskey, lemon, and honey before adding the hot water. Nothing. Didn't even burn my nose. And my sinuses have been clear this entire time. Tasted like nothing as well. Just hot water with a slight alcohol sensation. But last night I didn't have night sweats, and the chills have greatly reduced.

This morning I felt much better. No headache. More energy. No soreness. Just horrible coughing fits, and feeling light headed when I stand up.

This afternoon I tried to do the drive-thru testing at Pepsi Center, but they were closed. Drove to the curbside test side for Urgen Care, but they require an online reservation. Looked online, but didn't see a spot to register.

Denver Pepsi Center is open 8am to 12 am, and I reserved a spot, so I'll try again in the morning.

As a reference nobody that I've been around since Thur 7/23 has symptoms. Last human contact was Wednesday morning, but I saw that same group Sunday evening, Monday evening, and Tuesday evening (friends in town camping).

Hope you rally quickly. I was able to get into an urgent care within 24 hours when I needed the test. Assuming you are in the Denver Metro, the options are there.

Stay safe and rest easy.

I'm on your exact timeline with the exact symptoms. Also no taste or smell..... I couldn't even taste apple cider vinegar. I got tested yesterday. Still waiting on results.

Is it required to get tested? No way I'd wait for hours, or pay to get tested.

Is it bad that the only thing I really gleaned from this is that we all need to be drinking hot toddies?

No debate on the effectiveness of hot toddies!

Did drive-thru this morning. Only 20 minutes. Quick and painless. Results in 4 to 6 days from LabCorp

Feeling better, still tired and out of breath, lungs are very sore, same with abs.

Taste is starting to come back. Ran out of cough drops, so i'm been chewing on fresh ginger which helps with the cough suppressant.

Got my mom making a run for CoQ10, more cough drops, and expectorant + cough suppressant.

What is your reason with getting tested if you're already sick and don't seem to need hospital care? Honest question. Psychologically, would it worry you more or less knowing you have/had it? Good luck.

I certainly don't know his reasons for getting tested, but a verified Covid-19 diagnosis is required to donate convalescent plasma after recovery if one feels obliged to generously do so. And although this thing is already so widespread, getting tested can still help public health authorities understand trends and plan ahead (before the hospitalizations kick in 1-2 weeks after infection).

Never know, OP could start getting worse and need hospitalization. Unlikely at this point but would help speed up the process knowing he's already confirmed positive.

And as someone else mentioned, plasma donation.

My primary reason is the people I've interacted with. My mom is 69 and the primary caregiver for her 94yo aunt and disabled 66 yo cousin.

And my friends would like peace of mind, and that literally cost me nothing.

Test results also help give direction on when I can go back in public.

I would donate plasma, but every time I try to give blood I pass out, so that's not an option.

And yes I realize the irony of all this in that my great aunt isn't locked down, but goes out in public shopping, and my mom probably shouldn't be interacting with me during this.

But they are both very independent, stubborn, and this is their choice.

Been a few days so it's time for an update:

Monday was the same, fewer symptoms, feeling better, still coughing, but tired. Tried to do some work in the morning was kept feeling light-headed. Had to lay down a few times. By Monday evening I was feeling very nauseous and tired, even with 2 hr nap during the day. Made it maybe 11 hrs awake. I went to bed at 8:30 pm and slept pretty good through the night.

Tuesday I was definitely on the up and up. All symptoms gone except the nasty cough. Got my taste and smell back. Got my appetite back. Plenty of energy. But sleeping was hell. Cough was persistent and nothing seemed to stop it. Felt like fluid was in my lungs. Finally fell asleep around 4am and slept until 10 am.

Today, I feel decent, cough isn't too bad today, just tired from coughing all night.

I did get my test results today and tested positive.

Thanks for the kind words! I actually am. I took a cough suppressant + expectorant last night, and the CBD oil, and I slept better than I have in a week. 10 solid hours.

Feel pretty good today. Still coughing and a little trouble breathing, but full of energy and hunger and got 6 hrs work done.

Hang in there. My symptoms were very similar to yours particularly nausea, loss of appetite, and very tired lack of energy. Had fever for two weeks straight. Took three weeks to get back to normal, after two weeks of being sick.
