The discussion in another thread here about the possible benefits of the MMR vaccine having benefits against covid is pretty persuasive.

Has anyone on here actually taken the step of getting a booster to help against covid?

I'm not aware of downside. I've seen you can get them at CVS and have been thinking about it. It seems like a simple, cheap, and low risk way to maybe get some protection against feeling like crap for a few days..,or much worse.

I have been wondering about this as well! Surely it wouldn't take much for researchers to know if it seems to work?

My wife and I did as well. My 90 year old mother got one. All doctors we asked said no harm in it. It might be right.

No.

The last thing we need right now is a shortage of the MMR vaccines and an outbreak of measles.

Maybe if there was clear evidence showing a benefit, and I knew there was plenty of it to go around. But my titers for MMR, at least in 2013 when they were last drawn, were in the protective range. So I'm probably good anyways.

Outbreak of measles isn't my problem. The more kids who don't get vaccinated, the faster we'll reach herd immunity...right? I mean, I'm supposed to look out for myself, right?

If you are in your mid 50 s you should probably get an MMR booster anyway. The vaccine was weak when you all were young.

I've had a few doctors in the last 20 years - have no idea what and when my vaccinations were - is there a way to look that info up?

I would say at what age should you need to look at getting a booster? I have read that if you are 50 you should get a booster but what about 35-40?
