Houston is seeing major drops in covid patients peak about 350 today about 130 per day.

Light at the end of the tunnel soon. Stay being safe but things are looking up and be positive.

The system I am at in the TMC is down to roughly 33% of what we were at the peak. Still have a high number of patients but trending down. Just glad to be at early to mid June levels and see us closing Covid units to be used as normal med surg units.

Someone tell KHOU

There are more than 148,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Greater Houston area and the numbers continue to climb.

HOUSTON COVID cases continue to surge in Houston and surrounding areas. The City of Houston alone has more than 59,000 cases.

With only 130 a day and an avg 10-14 day recovery, how would we still have 59,000 "active cases"?

I'd assume that people who test positive then go home and get over it without anymore tests are not counted as resolved cases?

Statewide the picture is similar.

In the states that were of concern in July the picture is similar.

Nationwide the picture is similar.

And with the best leading indicator, ER visits for COVID-like illness? The picture is similar.
