Curious as to how many people here who have enrolled in a Covid 19 vaccine study. I am in a trial. I paid for my own antibody testing, since the investigators would not disclose it to me, due to study protocol parameters. Happy to say I now have IgG antibody. I've never had Covid 19, only the experimental vaccine.

I was not told whether I was receiving vaccine or placebo. The study is double blinded. But I did experience a low grade fever and mild body aches after the booster shot. Symptoms went away after 6 hours. No adverse events since.

I'm not making any claims on the long term efficacy or safety of the vaccine. All I can say is that it generated IgG antibody for me. Grateful for the opportunity to enroll and help with with science.

I volunteered and was chosen for the first round, but scheduling for the initial appt/exam was very limited (and they said it would take 3 hours!), so I couldn't make it work.

So, how does one sign up to participate?

Not sure if they are still enrolling, but check out dmclinicalresearch.com. Answer the questions and someone will contact you. First visit takes a while, but the subsequent ones don't, so long as they can effectively draw blood from your veins. Good luck.

Wouldn't this specifically get you kicked out of the trial and your results discarded?

My wife tried to sign up for a phase 3 and it said, in no uncertain terms if you get an antibody test you get kicked out and they have to drop you from the data jeopardizing the entire study.

Read the contract. Nothing of the sort.

Myself, wife, father, two brothers, a sister-in-law and two employees are all in the Moderna Phase 3 trial.

All of us except for one employee got the vaccine (apparently) as we all got sick with the 2nd shot, fever, chills headache and body aches. My father is the only one that has had the antibody test so far and he tested positive. I didn't think I had the vaccine because after the first shot I had zero reaction besides a pretty sore arm for a couple of days. No underarm gland soreness or anything else that my dad and wife experienced.

After the 2nd shot I was surprised to wake up in the middle of the night with a fever and chills. I topped out at around 102 and it lasted a good 12-15 hours. My headache lingered for close to 3 days. I was in bed for about a day - slept a ton.

I'm excited to see the results of the trial that should be out in a couple of days as they just this week met their 53 sick patients threshold to take a look at the initial results. I will be disappointed if it's not near the 90% efficacy that Pfizer was at considering they are the same types of vaccines.

Yeah there's 3 visits with the first one taking well over 2 hours for me. They take 8 vials of blood each visit and the first 2 times they did the nasal swab to see if you're positive. The last visit was like 20 minutes just to get a blood draw.

I think by the end a participant will make over $600. Something like that.

How are you feeling now?

I know they want to track long term to see if there are any issues.

Zero issues since the headache went away that first week. I'm like 6-7 weeks out since the 2nd shot.

And yeah, we do a little 2 or 3 question diary every week on our app now.

Even though I'm in the PFE trial, our adverse events seem to be on the same time line. I had developed low grade fever (99.3) 14 hours after my booster shot. Fever/chills last 6 hours, and mild body aches for about 8 hours after that. Then like a light switch, every ache subsided and I was playing golf on the same day. Have felt great ever since. I'm about 90 days in.

Very grateful to the Trump administration in its "Operation Warp Speed" efforts. Also grateful that I was randomized to the vaccine arm, even though its still not confirmed by the investigators.
