There was a research study in the mid 1990s or so in which they tried different zinc supplements for the flu.

From what I remember from back then, the one with the best result was zinc gluconate.

There was another that was close, but I don't remember which one for sure. It may have been zinc acetate, but keep in mind that it's been 25 years since I saw it.

There is, of course, the assumption that the best zinc supplement for the flu is the best zinc supplement for other diseases. That may or may not be the case.

I asked this question earlier. Based on bioavailability and amazon availability, I ended up ordering Zinc Picolinate

I'm using Gluconate

You can get it in tablet form

Also, Cold Eeze and ZiCam lozenges are zinc gluconate

ZiCam also has Zinc acetate

Remember to pair it with Quercetin

This is what was pointed out as having the best bioavailability but was pretty limited on amazon.

Yeah the tablets are scarce but I've been seeing Cold Eeze and ZiCam at most grocery stores

There are online vitamin companies that you can order directly from- Vitacost is one of them. Also Swanson Vitamins is another website to check.

Also, call your local independent mom and pop pharmacy. They will often deliver to your front porch if you pay by phone.

When I was doing my research, it seemed like zinc picolinate was the one better absorbed.... and that's the one I've been taking. I didn't come across any that stated zinc gluconate was the best absorbed.
