We just got over having Covid. We are planning on remaining cautious but I would be lying if I said I was being as cautious as I was before we had it. Is our theoretical new found immunity good for the new strain?

Think you're ok for the super strain but the uber* strain will be the one to watch for.
*may also be referred to as the bomb cyclone strain
Covid 19 is out, Covid 20 is in. This is no time to let up your guard. Double mask, triple hand sanitizer, and now you can't even look at people or you might catch it.
We just need these small minuscule tiny measures for about 2 weeks till we can get back to normal. Normal being 1 mask and the 6' rule for the rest of our lives.

They're saying the vaccine is likely good against the new strain so I don't see why your natural immunity wouldn't be. I'm not a doctor, but the same principles would apply.
This new strain is a media attempt to make more money by scaring people into more web clicks. It appears to spread a little bit faster, but otherwise it's the same virus with the same mechanism of action, and the same spike proteins that the vaccine and your antibodies will attack.
