Even if it is 90, you don't get there the next day. I personlly know of one nurse who had the shot and the next week has tested postive twice for Covid. Mild symptoms, but still immunity is not immediate.

from Dr. not a Dr. yet post with graph, said 90%. Maybe it was not the Pfizer one. I will leave this here, bow out, and let others discuss.
What about Moderna? I got that today and will definitely get the second dose when recommended but I was wondering what kind of protection I have between now and then.Dr. Not Yet Dr. Ag said:Tabasco said:

That is figure 3 from the NEJM article for the Pfizer vaccine. The 50% efficacy everyone keeps citing includes everyone who contracted COVID prior to immunity in the first 10 days following dose 1 (where the vaccine has 0% efficacy). Incidence of COVID+ individuals drops precipitously following day 11 after dose 1. The vaccine is 90% effective between day 1 of dose 2 to day 7 which is a time period where you would not expect dose 2 to have any effect on immunity. Dose 2 probably does provide a small boost to short term immunity, and likely provides significantly longer immunity, however.
Near identical time to efficacy.Dad said:What about Moderna? I got that today and will definitely get the second dose when recommended but I was wondering what kind of protection I have between now and then.Dr. Not Yet Dr. Ag said:Tabasco said:
