I'd think central texas is about to get a huge spike in test requests, or in a condition that is difficult to symptomatically differentiate from CoVID. I can see pollen on cedars now and I'm already having to take Claritin myself. I don't react strongly but know a lot of people who do.

The symptoms aren't the same but overlap enough that I'd suspect a lot of people go in for testing. Up to 1/4 of the population has a cedar pollen allergy. That's a lot of testing demand, possibly.

Agreed. I have been dosing up on flonase and allegra so that this won't happen to me.

A coworker told me of two friends, a married couple, he had hung out with and he was worried because they were showing symptoms and getting tested - thought he himself may have been exposed.

Turns out their symptoms were occurring at the same time cedar pollen levels here spiked to top 5 recorded values of all time. Both these individuals moved to this area in the last year, coming from an area with no cedar. Both their tests came back negative - implying the both may have been having cedar fever.

But, unfortunately, if you are having symptoms you worry may be Covid - it's still best to get a test.

Yes, Flonase plus Allegra is only thing that works for me too. I still blow my nose half the day.

Cedar fever is an allergy (not contagious) and cedar season in central Texas lasts a couple months. You want people to stay home for a month or two because of an allergy?

I get what you are saying. People do a very poor job of staying home when sick and contagious and we would have a lot less issues if people were in the habit of staying home when they got the cold or the flu.

I worked outside clearing brush yesterday. Tgis morning sneezing and drippy nose. Think I am still going to work tomorrow. Common sense
