I have a question in regards to how long after you have any covid symptoms you really need to stay away from people. I'm having a little get together of 10 folks and one of my friends had Covid last symptoms on the 13th - had a mild case. Took PCR test and tested positive / took a rapid and tested negative.

Really wants to come join the group but is apprehensive as we all around being around anyone that still test positive but I read online that these tests are junk so am looking for some opinions.

Thanks,

I think the general consensus is 14 days after first symptom onset. I will step back and let more informed people respond.

10 days after symptoms started, symptoms must be improving. Fever free for at least 72 hours. If he's passed all those markers, it doesn't matter if he still tests positive.

That's the general new quarantine guidelines if you "have to" get out for reasons such as work. Still risk of transmission, albeit small.

10-day still has a 1.4 median transmission % risk, with range being 0.4-10.6. So its all about your risk tolerance.
