Was wondering if this was a semi-common symptom as I had not really heard of it be mentioned as a possible COVID symptom at all -

I was exposed to covid the first Saturday in January. I found out I had been exposed on Wednesday, and tested positive through a rapid test on Thursday. At the time I had no symptoms at all and continued to have no symptoms until the following Tuesday afternoon (5 days since positive test) when my heart randomly began racing. I'm talking resting heart rate ranging from 130-150 bpm. I tried to calm myself down for about 90 minutes until finally I went to an emergency care center where they gave me an IV that instantly brought my heart rate down to normal levels. After consulting with my cardiologist, I was prescribed a 30 days of a 25mg beta blocker. My heart rate has remained at normal levels since and the only other symptom I ever developed was loss of smell. I am a mid-twenties male, my BMI classifies me as overweight but if I lost 5 pounds I would be in the normal weight category, and I have a congenital heart disease (Tetralogy of Fallot) .

Has anyone heard of this happening to anyone else? Or was this probably due to my heart condition?

You have a complicated medical history and this is higher level stuff than can be assessed here.

It took me 6 weeks to get my BP to level off at normal levels.
One day at a time.

There have been a couple distance athletes here who came down with COVID in the spring who had similar situations. Their resting heart rate went up much higher than normal during COVID and it took a while for it to go down and for them to reach a normal fitness level again. In both cases I think months later neither one had found a magic bullet other than continuing to make steady slow progress.
