Lancet just published a review of the Sputnik 5 vaccine and concluded it is highly effective. Now the Russians can lord this over their puppet states and push out Agitprop against western indolence and the superiority of the Russian scientific establishment.

Quote:

The Russian-developed Sputnik V vaccine is 91.6 percent effective in protecting against symptomatic COVID-19 on par with the currently approved Western jabs, according to a peer-reviewed study published in The Lancet Tuesday.

The data is from a Phase 3 study, with almost 20,000 participants across a number of hospitals and clinics in Russia taking part in the two-dose scheme. Starting from 21 days after the first dose, there were 16 cases of symptomatic COVID-19 in the vaccine group versus 62 cases in the placebo group, researchers reported. There were no cases of "moderate or severe" coronavirus infections in the vaccinated group 21 days after the first dose.

The clinical trial also analyzed people over 60, finding the jab to be 91.8 percent effective, based on 2,144 participants.

I guess there is a bright side to state sponsored IP theft. Hope this helps to end the pandemic.

Vaccines are old technology. Adenovirus based ones have been used for decades, although only in the military in the US.

My guess is that they knew the vaccines would be effective because they were willing to do some secret unethical "challenge" trials where you actually try to infect vaccinated people with coronavirus and see what happens. Russia and China can do **** like that, not here.

Guess you're not old enough to know of the CIA testing drugs like LSD on US citizens without their knowledge.

Yep. I just listed the one as I didn't want to burst the lad's US purity bubble too rapidly.

I'm aware of those situations in the past, but we were going to get a coronavirus vaccine approved in the US using those techniques.
