Howdy, Unfortunately I'm on day 6 or so and intermittently experiencing fever. It's easily controlled with modest acetaminophen but spikes when I stop.

Today I let it run to see if my body will fight it. Fever has been 100.5-102.8 for last 10 hours measured under tongue. Doing some wet rags etc but not terribly uncomfortable and well hydrated.

Drinking tons Gatorade, water, smoothies soup today. Peeing fine.

Lungs, breathing are normal. Main symptoms are sinusitis fever soar throat. Mucinex has prevented really any cough from post nasal drip. Also doing sinus rinse, quercitin/c, vita D.

500mg 2-3x a day acetaminophen handles the fever but I just feel like I'm blocking the healing.

Athletic, 49yr old male, asthma but never an issue always managed.

Any help appreciated and prayers of course too.

I had low grade fever spikes everyday for at least 8 days before they finally subsided. I think it only went above 101 a few times so it wasn't unbearable. I don't know if it was right, or wrong, but I never took anything for the fever. My temperature would be relatively ok during the morning and early afternoon and then elevate late every afternoon. On day nine, or so, it went away and didn't return. Not sure this is helpful, but hopefully your fever will subside soon.

I had fever off and on for 10 days during my bout (peaked around 101.5). Controlled via extra strength Tylenol each time it rose above 100.4 until day 10 when I had to alternate Tylenol/Motrin due to fever frequency. Night 10 the fever finally broke and did not return.

Hang in there. You can do this!

Thanks for the insights. Really gives me hope. I am gonna stay on the acetaminophen pretty steady as needed.

My fever was steady for 12 days when I went for another zoom Dr visit.... Started Ivomectin, zpac and steroid and within 48 hours fever subsided and within a few more days the rest (fatigue, sinus type symptoms) started improving..

Sue, Would love to know what doc you had that got aggressive on it!

My fever has really subsided and sinus symptoms seem to be breaking up. Fatigue is ridiculous though.

I've never understood our compulsion to reduce fevers. Fevers are a normal part of the human immune system. While it is true that a really high fever (105 or so) can cause seizures and other serious harm, I've always been in the camp to stay out of the body's way when it mounts a fever. Kids are a bit of a different story, as they can run their temperatures up very quickly and don't always have the capacity to sense it or alert their caretakers. All the best to you.

My 19yo daughter had a low grade fever for 9 days. No fever on Day 10. It returned on Day 11 for one last hurrah, then left. She contacted her doctor on Day 11 (a Friday) when it returned. She (the doctor) said to call back on Monday if it hadn't broken, but thankfully it had.
