Five days after exposure my son and I got tested and both were negative using the saliva test. Wife gets tested positive on the 6th day and they used the nasal swab. My work requires 2 negative test before I can come back so going to a place that does the nasal swab.

No one at the house has isolated and I was around my daughter when she first showed symptoms. My son had a fever the night my daughter had her symptoms so it would not surprise me at all if his test today comes back positive. I am symptom free so we will see.

Both my wife and I were positive and very much symptomatic, impossible for us to isolate from our 11 and 7 year olds, other than not trying to go out of our way to infect them. They were exposed to my positive parents and us for days. Neither of them developed any symptoms, but I went and had them both tested using the Curative cheek swab test and shockingly BOTH were negative.

I've been wondering if it's possible one or both actually had been infected but that their viral levels were so low that this test wasn't capable of detecting Covid.

I've been wondering the same. My kiddo and I were very closely exposed for several days to a symptomatic relative who had a positive test the day after we left their home. We had negative rapid tests (nasal) the same day that she had a positive one, and then we both developed symptoms the day after that and went for the curative test which also came back negative. We ended up quarantining for two weeks anyway because of the direct exposure, but I just can't fathom that we didn't have it given the exposure and the symptoms and I'd wondered if the test was a false negative.

My son and I both tested negative on the second test. I will probably get tested for antibodies next since none of us isolated so we both have been in close contact with 2 positive people for several days
