I'm in an area where there's access to vaccines available. However, I kind of fall in between. I'm not 65+, not obese but overweight, and have white coat hypertension. None of these are specifically on that list but at the end it leaves it open ended.

The CDC has overweight as a "might increase risk" not increased risk.

Any docs care to weigh in if I qualify?

Just sign up. Nobody is going to ask you to step on a scale or show dr visit reports or anything like that.

I'm 35 BMI but built like a train and my wife is breastfeeding (doctor told her to get it as soon as possible) was reason enough for both of us to sign up. We were even thanked by the volunteers giving out the shots for taking the time and effort to go through with it.

Edit: I will caveat that with my wife and I got ours done through a county public health hub. I've seen and heard some health facility hubs are strict on "only 65+" and such. Don't see how the state allows a hub to do that if you fall in 1B.

You don't have any of the conditions on the list but you're wondering if you qualify?

The list says "such as, but not limited to"

My understanding is that it is up to the vaccine provider to determine who is qualified to receive a vaccine at their site. It seems that there is a vast difference in how each provider decides who they will vaccinate. My advice is to sign up on any waitlists in your area, be honest when answering the screening questions, and get the vaccine if and when you are given an appointment.

Just sign up. When they list conditions on news stories, they just give examples - no where does it say those are the only conditions that qualify.

If the provider wants to quibble, they can. But they won't.

And you are not getting in line in front of someone who needs it worse. 65+ year olds have had since January 1 to get signed up.

He mistyped. They list a bunch fo conditions on the pulldown menu and then "other".

Select "other" and put E.D. You'll still get the shot.

if you have hypertension, you are eligible. That is a heart condition.

i'm 33 with bad asthma and slightly pudgy. I signed up and got my first dose already. Nobody batted an eye, the more people we have that get this thing the better.

And I was told that of the 1600 that signed up for a morning slot a few days ago (when my sister went), 600 didn't show up. These are 600 thawed doses that need to go in arms.
