I just got my second shot. Even though Walgreens was saying that they didn't have the vaccine, they did have a sign-up URL. I got an a confirmed appointment at a local pharmacy and it took me 15 minutes each time to get the shot.

The reason that I am starting this tread is to share what has worked for other people. Hopefully it will help.

Sent a message using https://www.myhealth.va.gov/ and they responded immediately with this response:

"We are currently calling and scheduling patients based on priority grouping.


The COVID team is currently scheduling vaccination appointments for:
1) Veterans 65 years or older
2) Specific high risk groups (homeless, hemodialysis, chemotherapy, or transplant patients)
3) Veterans who work as Frontline Essential Workers such as:
--first responders (e.g., firefighters and police officers)
--corrections officers
--food and agricultural workers
--U.S. Postal Service workers
--manufacturing workers
--grocery store workers, public transit workers
--those who work in the education sector (teachers and support staff members)
--childcare workers
4) Veterans whose physician has specifically requested a vaccine based on high risk medical conditions such as:
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, heart disease, Cancer, immunosuppressed, obesity, chronic kidney disease, liver cirrhosis, ALS, etc.)

If you meet any criteria in #1, #2, or #3 listed above, you can call the COVID scheduling line.

If you meet any criteria in #4 please reply or call to leave a message indicating your medical conditions that you believe make you high risk and the request will be forwarded to your doctor for review."

Called the phone # (removed it from quote since it's a local VA hospital) told them I qualify under section 3 and was scheduled with 1st and 2nd dose of Pfizer after they asked a few questions. I encourage any vet, especially the olds, to use your local VA. They actually have their s*** together on this.

Wife was a cancer patient. She got it through brookshire brothers.

Easy and fast.

Luck. Got mine through Harris County hub. Just happened to get appointment when it opened up. 20 minutes later they were out of appointments. Wait was 10 minutes. Their setup could handle alot more vaccinations if available.

A week out from my second shot through the Tarrant County sign up portal.

Made a list of providers from DSHS site on day 1 of 1B eligibility
Spent two hours calling and checking websites, got on several lists, laughed at by several Brookshires employees who were completely overwhelmed, on hold for 30 minutes at a small clinic in Mesquite and able to make an appointment for two weeks out

We didn't actually think it would happen because it was such an odd interaction, but they called us the day before to confirm and we got our second one last Friday.

I got it for my aunt and uncles through the City of Garland. They were on several county lists, but Garland came through first.

Here in CA, I am signed up to be a volunteer at a vaccine supercenter which is supposed to allow me to get a vaccine if it is available ... I am hoping it works, but worst case I'll be helping out in some small way
