We're in Dallas and she got her first dose at the beginning of February. Got an email ten days ago that said they were behind for the second doses because of the storm. However, that's the last I've heard. I thought they were supposed to be two weeks apart. She's at a month now. What should we do? Anyone experiencing this as well?

I've read that the second dose is supposed to be administered between 3-6 weeks after the first. So you have some time. I would definitely reach out to them, though

Pfizer second dose is at 3 weeks.

Moderna second dose is at 4 weeks.

Dallas County sucks.

She could probably just show up with her card from the first one as long as it's been at least 3 if Pfizer or 4 if Moderna. I don't think Dallas had a very scientific way of scheduling the followups other than "try to come back in ___ weeks at about the same time".

The 3-4 wait is a minimum guideline, but it doesn't hurt to have to wait longer. The 2nd seems to be most effective at boosting the long-term effectiveness.

Her first dose was February 9. They sent an email saying please don't just show up.

I sent them an email but need to find a phone number as well.

Good to know it's 3-4 weeks and that she still has another week and hasn't missed the window.

Thank you!

My Mom got her first Moderna shot in Dallas (at KBH) on 1/30. They contacted her last Friday (2/26) and gave her a 3 day window to schedule her second shot. She scheduled it for this past Monday and was in and out in under 30 minutes.

That sucks. Collin County scheduled me on the spot for the 2nd shot while administering the first dose.

Look into going to Sams or try Walmart. Just tell them it is your second shot and take your card with you.

I got my first shot last Saturday at the Dallas/Fair Park FEMA MegaSite. It was surprisingly fast. Almost as if the Army has been handling logistics for a while...
Once I got my shot, I was handed a small, index card sized piece of paper that shows when I received the first shot, which brand it was, and then the date (3 weeks from Saturday) that I am to return. They said I don't need to schedule the shot, nor should I be receiving any correspondence from them. I just need to bring the paper with me, pull up to the 2nd shot lane, and proceed to the tent area to get the second dose.
Is this not how it's been handled previously?

That's how we've been doing it as well. The card tells them when to come back.

Harris County was approximately one week late(5 weeks)sending out notices for administering second dose due to weather.

Remember, Lord Jenkins runs Dallas County. There's a reason it's a cluster ****. Not many people on the planet can **** this up more than he has.

If she can travel, there are second dose appointments available through CVS in Rowlett for 3/11/21, and in Grand Prairie or Cedar Hill on 3/10/21 and 3/11/21. These are for Pfizer second doses.
