As im an Alaskan resident this is awesome! Im an essential worker and was just able to apply for my vaccine appointment last week. Most areas had lots of appointments still available and they opened it up to everyone today.

Utah here, and we're getting close. Right now its Age 50+, BMI 30+, and a laundry list of Age 16+ with medical conditions. All indications seem like end of March/early April we'll have vaccines open to everyone.

Mask usage is widespread here, mandate in effect until April 10th, and everyone has a good sense of community and a collective spirit. Statewide our total hospitalizations are only 200 souls and deaths are way below national average.

Living here during COVID has really made me appreciate a place like this, compared to..... some other places I've lived.

Edit: Governor's office saying today that vaccine will be open April 1st to everyone.

Lets not make things political on this board or take back handed shots at others who might see things differently.

Oh, except when it fits my side.

I agree. Alaska is large and the mentality of conforming to recommendations is very regional. My wife works for our State Department of Health and Social Services in the EMS clinic and was put into the task force early on. I've been privy to things from early on. Our very limited hospital/EMS infrastructure was critical to keep number from blowing up. It's looking like there's light at the end of the tunnel and I'm so relieved.

Now if we can just have a normal summer and keep the tourists away again that would be sweet!

North Carolina here. We open to essential workers and those with underlying conditions 3/24. We should be open to everyone by early April. (Although essential workers and those with underlying conditions include a large portion of our population already)

Rural Texas here. We have free open enrollment vaccines in our county. First come first serve with no appointment needed. 65+ allowed to start at 8am, 50+ at like 10am, and everyone else after lunch.

How has the take been? Large crowds or are people self sorting into equal days?

I'm in relatively rural Kansas and we definitely have appointments still required..in fact county can't even move on to 18-64 with medical conditions, and was told to stay with essential workers and 65+ (of which all have already had if they wanted).

This just started, so I'm not sure yet how it is going. I know our local pharmacies are doing the J&J vaccine.

If you are a teacher, for instance, you can get an appointment immediately for the J&J if you want.

Our county is pretty well run for events like this. After dealing with Harvey, flood relief, and various other events the officials have it down.

Galveston county has been open to under 50 with no preexisting conditions for about 2 weeks. I signed up and received an email with my appointment the next morning.
