I have no doubt that this question has most likely been posted before, but I couldn't find a thread with a straight answer. My wife is six weeks pregnant with our second child, and we're conflicted on whether she should receive the vaccine or not. Her GP and OB/GYN both basically said the same thing: there haven't really been any studies on the long term effects of this vaccine, but, at least in the short term, there doesn't appear to be any significant effects to the mother or baby, and that it basically is a personal choice. We are certainly NOT anti-vax,( I'm getting the first shot on Friday), but we just don't quite know the risks inherent in this to the baby. So, doctors, is Covid more a risk to a pregnant mother than the vaccine? It really is a coin-flip kind of decision with which we've been struggling.
For reference, my wife is 35-so a little bit on the older side- and we're not quite as confident in this one coming to fill term as our first because of her age. Any suggestions?
