Blood Clot After Moderna Vaccine

Just curious if anyone on here has experienced, or has first-hand knowledge of, blood clotting after receiving the Moderna vaccine, or any vaccine really?

There doesn't seem to be much data out there supporting this possible connection, outside of some anecdotal evidence here and there. But about 10 days after getting her 1st Moderna shot, my wife was in the ER with a blood clot in her jugular, just above where she got the injection.

She was having some pain in her injection arm and went in to see her general practitioner about the redness and swelling near the injection spot. The doctor thought it was "Moderna rash" from the shot, but as a precaution, she ordered an ultrasound of the arm and neck. Sure enough, they found the clot in the neck and sent her to the ER.

All of her blood work and other tests and scans have come up clean - between the vascular surgeon, hematologist, general practitioner and even her OBGYN, no one can say with any certainty what caused the clot, and everyone is very careful not to indict the vaccine.

So I was wondering if anyone had any similar stories ... the problem with not knowing what caused it, of course, is not knowing what sort of risk she has of developing another one in the future.

From all the data that I've seen about the vaccines blood clots have not been occurring beyond background rates.

Covid increases risk of blood clots substantially more than the vaccine. Just look up that one broadway actor that had to get an amputation due to clots. In fact, most doctors still put all inpatient COVID positives on blood thinners.

But agree with above, no statistically significant identified increase in blood clots.

I'm guessing the hematologist did a test for a clotting disorder, like Factor V Leiden? Lots of people have that and don't know it.

You're correct - they took 10 vials of blood and ran every test known to man it seems like, and everything came back normal. Next up is a CT scan, so we'll see if that shows anything causing stress to the jugular.

Soo...

We know that in some people the body's reaction to COVID causes strange blood ailments like thickening and blood clots.

Then, we create a "vaccine" that artificially initiates the body's reaction to COVID.

Now, we're surprised that in some people the "vaccine" causes blood clots?

Interesting thread for me since I have a rare blood disorder called Polycythemia Vera where my bone marrow produces too many red blood cells (thickens blood). Too much Maroon/Aggie blood I suppose. Receiving second dose of Moderna on Tuesday.
