I think most of us have come to realize that these "safety" measures are being pushed on us indefinitely. These people have no intention of ever dropping them. Will they win out. Doubt it. But it is managing to elongate things unnecessarily. Look no further than the fact that the vaccinated still have to follow all protocols. Lunacy.

Shook hands with a former co-worker this morning...so, that's a "no" on forgoing handshakes, Dr. Fearmonger.
i'd prefer not to shake hands with anyone, but it has nothing to do with covid.

There's an old joke about microbiologists being the ones that wash their hands before they go to the bathroom. I don't think an infectious disease person would have ever been in favor of actual hand to hand contact.

Handshakes are critical. Is a person no longer as good as their word?
I have a firm grip but am always amused by the type that is trying way too hard to have a firm grip. It's like their handshake is trying to recreate a scene from Over The Top. I think there is a high correlation to driving a lifted truck
Couldn't care less one way or another to handshake a stranger. Not against it, but it's my no means important to me.

I was raised in the way of the handshake... look 'em in the eye... make sure your grip is firmer than his... only shake a lady's hand if she offers first...

Hand shaking is fine
Was in a large retail store today and the manager came by shook my hand and said thanks for the business.
It's completely insane the amount of science that has been ignored in an effort to scare people.
Don't put your fingers in your mouth, eyes, or nose and you are fine.

Isn't it good to be exposed to germs, though? It doesn't seem smart to go through life trying to avoid all germs.
I do engineering/sales and a lot of our business comes from the oilfield. For most customers a handshake is the same as a signed contract.
Some people don't realize that there were a lot of people that never changed their lifestyle after the first few weeks of Covid. Take care of yourself, get healthy, and live with less fear knowing that if you do get Covid it won't be a serious case. Still have fear, get the vaccine since it seems to be working pretty well.

Which is why the 5 second rule does not apply to my kids. Play in the dirt, drink out of the hose, become invincible. I remember in middle school we got water from a PVC water contraption that we all shared for football. After that the plague has nothing on meAggieSarah01 said:

When I was leaving, without thinking I extended my hand to shake hands with the salesman. He looked at it, hesitated a bit, and then went ahead and shook hands.
One doctor I used to go to (actually, two brothers who I can't tell apart) hasn't shaked hands with anyone in years. When I went to him more than ten years ago, he would just do fist bumps.zephyr88 said:
