So I'm at a spa at the Pearl in SA and in comes this lady. She's hooded and masked and getting some kind of mani-pedi thing. As she talks to the tech, she proceeds to talk about quarantines and distancing and masks and states, "yeah a lot of that did not probably work too well, but it was worth doing to see if it was needed". Odd and stupid but whatever.

The weird part was her stating how her children will not go out in public without a mask or eat at restaurants indoors "because" of the "dangers" they obviously see around every corner. Basically mom and dad have ceded operational control of family activities to their two kids who are apparently scared to death of covid.

That's crazy. What the eff has happened to parenting? I know it is the hardest job in the world (to do it well), but dang!"

Seeing babies with masks breaks my heart. And yes, I mean infants. One in Boston, OUTSIDE, couldn't have been more than a year old.

Older kid, maybe 9, on a bike, OUTSIDE, with dad jogging, also in a mask.

I was generally encouraged by Boston and New Hampshire, as the vast majority were unmasked. But the above was so sad.

Same thing here in the DC area. Obese parents walking around unmasked outside while their young, healthy children are running around with masks on. Bizarre.
