Friends

I am reaching to find help for a good friend and co-worker here in the Houston area who is struggling with uveitis and chronic inflammation in his body. He is an otherwise healthy 30 year husband and father of two small boys. Back in January, he had covid with typical symptoms and got over it like most in a few weeks. Fast forward to late April, he develops a fever that Tylenol and other drugs don't alleviate. This continues for 22 days while seeing a multitude of doctors including infectious decease, Ophthalmologist , eye infection specialist. The only thing truly diagnosed was Uveitis. Extensive blood work has been performed and at one point Lupus was a potential diagnosis but that specialist ruled it out. A third Ophthalmologist feels strongly that his body is fighting remnants of the prior Covid virus as he has several patiences with uveitis and inflammation. They started a heavy course of prednisone steroids and that finally broke the string of 22 days with a fever. They started at 60mg and he has worked his way down. Anytime he gets below 30 mg his fever returns along with pain which is moderate to severe. He is now having higher blood pressure and most of his doctors agree he needs to get off the steroids but none has an alternate in mind. They have mentioned humira. He has had high eye pressure during this time but drops of al****an seems to be working but his vision in one eye corrected has gone from 20/20 to 20/70. His current eye doctor says this a function of the inflammation.

Have any of you dealt with something similar? Do you have any recommendations / referrals ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
