Just tested positive tonight.

Any physical contact?

No physical contact that I can recall. Three conversations throughout the morning. Each were probably a couple minutes. First convo we were within a couple feet of each other.

Delta variant or different?

I believe it to be the delta variant.

Unfortunately you are just going to have to wait and see. At least it was short periods but you just never know. Seen plenty of extremes in long and short periods of exposure with people getting it and not.

The most important questions are: Is the person vaccinated, or have they had covid already?

The delta has turned into like when COVID first started spreading in the US and everyone turned into a hypochondriac thinking every time they had the sniffles or a headache it was COVID.

Possible but unlikely. But you never know with this virus.

I assume it to be the delta variant because I was vaccinated with j and j and I've heard it's not as effective.

I also hear it is making up a large majority of the new cases, so again another assumption.

The majority of transmission was considered to be continuous contact for longer than 15 mins (or much longer in reality), typically in poorly circulated air, aka homes etc. my wife daughter and son had it, I never quarantined from them and I likely never had it or no symptoms. Heck, I know some that tried to get it from siblings and still couldn't catch it.

Based on all those I am aware through schools and home, it's not a slam dunk to catch it.

I know I got it in Feb with extremely minimal contact. So the answer is we have no idea

Well this person also had their wife get it several months ago without getting it himself.

That is what she said.

It's really difficult to predict.
The day before my daughter developed symptoms and tested positive, she sat next to my 70yo dad for over thirty minutes at the dinner table. They laughed together, leaned in and spoke to each other, and he even took a bite of her unfinished hamburger.
This was in November 2020, so before vaccines were available to us. We were very nervous about the probability of him getting sick. He stayed well.
Hopefully the same will be true for your contact.

I hear the delta is more contagious so I'm worried about that.
