Game Preview
After this afternoon match we'll be in the back half of conference play. Today at 2pm in Reed Arena your tenth ranked Texas A&M Aggie Volleyball team will take on a struggling Arkansas Razorback team that had a rough non conference and has only picked 1 conference win.
They lost 5 non power 4 games in non conference to the likes of Wichita State, Cal Poly, Tulsa, Denver, and Arkansas State. They then picked up a win in their first conference game in a 5 set win over Ole Miss. However, since they have lost 6 in a row including getting swept 3 times and losing in 4 three times.
A great thing about our experience is that this year we are taking care of business against teams we should. In order to host in December as well as earn a double bye in the second tournament, it's a must to take care of losing teams. Plus it always feels good adding conference wins. We are the lone team in 3rd place in the SEC sitting at 6-1.
Arkansas has really struggled recently. They did drop a close set 25-27 to tu on Friday though. They really struggle in serve receive and they don't serve hard either. If we put pressure on them, we should put this one away early and easily. I hope we can see some of our freshman get court time like Megan Fitch and even Taryn Morris.
It will also be the second part of senior night. Tonight we will honor Lexi Guinn, Emily Hellmuth, Maddie Waak, Tatum Thomas, and Taylor Humphrey. So stay after the match to recognize and honor these seniors! It will also be our first time playing 2 conference games in 3 days on the Friday/Sunday slate. We'll do the same with 2 road match this coming week at LSU and at Ole Miss. Let's play efficiently and hopefully get another quick sweep to move to 7-1 in conference play!
