Some quick Wednesday midday recruiting notes
- Checked around again on a pair of sources close to the recruitment of Canonsburg (PA) S Donovan McMillon, and just as we have been reporting, it seems like that one is Gainesville bound. The fact that Donovan has a whole bunch of family in the area is playing a lead role here. We'll see how engaged A&M stays in this one, especially if visits are allowed to happen.- I've been told today to expect an announcement from the UIL early next week in terms of their plan going forward for fall athletics. - The QB quest in 2022 continues to concentrate on the same group of names as I've checked around again. Quinn Ewers of Southlake Carroll is still a primary target as are guys like Ty Simpson and Tevin Carter out of Tennessee. In state, the Aggies continue to closely monitor Conner Weigman out of Bridgeland and Austin Westlake's Cade Klubnik. Weigman has had an incredible summer on the baseball diamond and should probably be considered in the same realm as Kohl Stewart or Kyler Murray in terms of his projectability there. - Jason has been putting out names that he'd like to see offered in 2022, so I'll throw out a handful of mine, as well.1. West Orange-Stark OL/DL Demetrius Hunter 2. Manvel LB Justin Medlock 3. Katy LB Ty Kana 4. Spring CB Dorian Friend 5. College Station OL Cory Hendrix

****Weekend High School Football Thread
I just couldn't wait for Thursday so I jumped the state line and took the trip to Little Rock to see OL Chris Morris and West Memphis take on Little Rock Central.https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/1166453673125453825?s=20West Memphis has three prospects with Texas A&M offers. 2021 DE Renard Gwynn and 2022 QB Tevin Carter are both at West Memphis with Morris. West Memphis also has Tulane LB commit Kendarrius Moore and 2021 DT Terry Carter also holds an offer from Tulane.

Notes on the recruitment of a top OL prospect
Memphis (TN) 2020 OL Chris Morris is planning his return trip to College Station. He will take an unofficial to Texas A&M the weekend of June 14 and the Aggies will also receive his final official visit when he takes them in the fall. He will visit A&M this summer for camp with fellow P.U.R.E Youth members QB Tevin Carter (2022), DT Terry Carter (2021), DE Renard Gwynn (2021), and CB Tamerius Bell (2022). In addition to Texas A&M, Morris is also likely to camp at Alabama this summer. The Crimson Tide, Ohio State, and Clemson are also expected to receive official visits with Texas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma fighting for the fifth official. After talking with a few different sources I would say the Aggies continue to lead the way and have very good momentum at this time.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
