Saturday morning recruiting notes
- Mobile (AL) LB Shemar James has moved his visit to next weekend to be in town with the big group of expected visitors. - I've been told by a reputable source that Texas A&M has no plans to pursue transfer QB Quinn Ewers. The two sides have not even spoken. The staff is very happy with Conner Weigman and their future with him. ***See post below. Working on additional confirmation here ***- A few names I think the A&M staff may be interested in as PWO candidates:Bridgeland WR Andrew Maleski - already offered a spot A&M Consolidated LB Tyndall McNamara College Station LB Jaxson Slanker Katy DB Carson Marshall Celina LB Hunter Neely

A few very quick recruiting notes
- Jimbo Fisher and Tyler Santucci went in-home with The Woodlands LB Martrell Harris last night. I'm told the meeting went extremely well, and the visit lasted north of 4 hours. Martrell plans on signing on December 15th. - I'm also expecting an in-home visit from Jimbo, Elijah Robinson, and Terry Price tomorrow with Lakeland (FL) DL Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy. Oklahoma was in to see him today. - I have heard today that the new coaching staff at Florida is pushing to get visits from Deyon Bouie , Evan Stewart, and Jacoby Mathews. I was also told that those initiatives are speculative at best at this stage. Bouie and Stewart are expected back in College Station next weekend (Dec 10-11). - Still expecting a visit from Mobile (AL) LB Shemar James this weekend.

Wednesday afternoon recruiting quick hitters
- Word I got is the in-home visit with Atascocita OL Kam Dewberry went very well. This one is an in-state battle. I like A&M's pitch more than the one being offered by Texas. - Mobile (AL) LB Shemar James confirmed with a source of mine that he's taking a visit to A&M this weekend. I'm told Florida is well out in front and the likely landing place as of now. I'm not expecting him to end up in College Station.- LSU continues their push for A&M LB commit Martrell Harris. Two staff members were at The Woodlands yesterday. Jimbo Fisher goes in home with him tonight. Martrell told me he still plans on signing early. - Both Howell and I have heard TCU (behind Bryan Carrington and Rashaad Samples) is trying to weasel their way in with WR commit Chris Marshall. I don't think that's going to work. Chris has been advocating and recruiting for A&M in the last couple of weeks. - Still no determination on the status of Conner Weigman for Bridgeland's game on Saturday against Tomball. Conner told me he has been feeling better as the week has progressed. - Go watch the junior tape on 2023 DL Johnny Bowens. It'll remind you a little bit of another defensive lineman who came to College Station out of Converse Judson. He recently announced that he plans on commit soon, and he's been a priority target for Terry Price and Elijah Robinson.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
