With spring football in action and camp and official visit season on the horizon, it’s time for our recruiting team at TexAgs to update the player rankings within the great state of Texas. Updates were made to the 2027 and 2028 lists, with a "watchlist" being established for 2029.

Springtime visits in Aggieland are officially ramping up
Earlier this week, Texas A&M welcomed its first spring visitor, and the Aggies will start hosting loaded weekends of visits in short order. Mike Elko & Co. enter the spring in a good spot as practice begins on Friday, but there is plenty of work to be done on the trail.

Dallas Under Armour Camp Thread
The Under Armour Camp has arrived in DFW and the action is set to kickoff at about 9 a.m.The day will kickoff with the OL/DL groups, then RB/LB groups roll out, and day will conclude with QB/WR/DB groups. Here's a quick run of show9-11:30 OL/DL10-12:30 RB/LB11:30-2:30 QB/WR/DBThere will be testing, drills, and one-on-ones. I will not have a ton of real time access to test numbers, but the competition is always fun and I will be there to take in the action.OL Ismael Camara will not be in attendance this morning, but there are a couple of OL targets I know I'll be watching in South Oak Cliff's Brian Swanson and McKinney 2028 Sean Sherman. Other standouts include 2027s Peyton Miller, Jackson Cook, and Jasper Ngokwere, and Duncanville 2028 Kendrick Harris. The DL group does not have as many current Texas A&M targets but it does have talent with Guyer duo Zane Rowe and Khyren Haywood and DeSoto standout and Texas Tech commit K'Adrian Redmond leading the way there. In the running back group SaRod Baker headlines a group which also includes Lancaster's Victor Scott, Midway's Lathan Whisenton, Richland's Jayshon Gibson, and Arlington Martin's Javian Jones-Priest.At linebacker Aston Whiteside is one I am looking forward to seeing again. I haven't seen him since last February and he picked up an Aggie offer this fall. LB Braylon Williams is another I look to make some noise. Things have been a little quieter between him and the Aggies lately but there has been some strong connections there in the past.In the 2028 class Texarkana Pleasant Grove's Ke'Drid Smith and Pflugerville Weiss' Tylan Hendersonare already established as two of the best in the class with national interest. I'm interested to see if Smith who has worked mainly as an edge also works with the DL groupQB will be led by TCU commit Brice McCurdy and former TCU commit Jerry Meyer III, 2028s Hayes Hackney and Trey Wright are two of the most prolific in Texas and will be one to watch as well.Wide receiver is led by Aggie target Briceson Thrower and includes some intriguing underclassmen already holding Texas A&M offers in Damarion Mays, Dez Bryant Jr, Jaden Hurndon, Sukora Cooper Jr.. Duncanville 2027 Trenton Yancey is another highly regarded talent expected to be on hand.At DB of course CB John Meredith III will have all eyes locked on him. 2028 standout James Foster III has already established himself as one of the best overall in Texas regardless of class, and North Crowley 2029 Braylen Cunningham is generating major buzz. That's few to watch. I'm sure there will be more. I will post updates in this thread throughout the day so be sure to stay tuned.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
