With Texas A&M turning the page to a new chapter, Jimbo Fisher leaves the program in a much better position than his predecessor on the recruiting trail. Still room for improvement, Fisher deserves credit for transforming the Aggies into a major attraction for top prospects.

Bryce Foster & LJ Johnson
Figured I'd give y'all an update on what I know as well as what our recruiting staff has been hearing with 24 hours left in the early signing period. I'll start with Katy Taylor OL Bryce Foster because we have a definitive announcement time on that front. In case you haven't seen, Bryce is expected to make his announcement on campus between 6:30 and 7 tomorrow morning. The ceremony will also honor Colorado signee Trevor Woods, Texas signee Hayden Conner, and Army signee Casey Shorter. I'd bet on Bryce being the final player featured. It's also Bryce's birthday. He's also got finals during the day...and he's also got a playoff game tomorrow night at Delmar Stadium against Houston Heights. Needless to say, it's been a busy week for the kid. Now, in terms of where things stand, I can say with absolute certainty that, as of last night, no letter of intent has been signed or sent to any school. We all know and have seen what's been coming out of the Oklahoma side of things, and I firmly believe the recent conversations had by Jimbo Fisher and Josh Henson over the last 5-7 days with Bryce and his family were extremely productive and well received. I also know that the OU staff were continuing their final recruiting pitches to everyone involved well into this week. It sounds like something spooked the Sooner coaches into believing they didn't have as strong a grasp on this one as they thought they did just 7 days ago. Again though, Bryce remains unsigned. Regardless of the outcome of tomorrow's decision, one thing that I want to highlight is the humility and humbleness that Bryce has displayed throughout this process. You'd never know this kid holds the stature he does when you interact with him. He's goofy, funny, and super down to earth. I know (because he flat out told me two nights ago) that this decision has been really wearing on him, and that he hates to feel like he's going to let anyone down. I'm actually pumped for the kid that he's got a playoff game tomorrow so that he can make his decision in the morning, be done with it, and then focus on doing something he loves and is comfortable with. In regards to CyFair RB LJ Johnson Jr, both Looch and I have been hearing similar stuff. We are not expecting a decision or an announcement today or tomorrow, however we cannot completely cross that out just yet. Both A&M and Texas continue to make overtures this week, but I do think the Aggies momentum in the city of Houston recently has caught LJ's attention. He has certainly heard from Tunmise Adeleye in the last couple of days. Even going back to last week, Tunmise said he had been talking with LJ about joining him in College Station. This recruitment feels like it's swung back and forth a few times, but I've always believed A&M could withstand whatever punches came out of Austin. Regardless if LJ signs during this window or waits until February, my gut and our sources say Jimbo and company hold the cards as things stand today.
