A few Wednesday night recruiting notes
I have a few notes from all over the placeWe'll start in 2019. Colquitt Co. (GA) CB Jay Ward will be in town this weekend on an official visit. I've heard from sources in Georgia that LSU and Florida State lead the way right now, but nothing is set in stone. I was told there is still time for the Aggies to make an impression, so we will see what happens after the weekend. Now for some underclassmen notes. Jimbo Fisher made his way by Denton Ryan today. The Aggies continue to pursue 2020 ATH and Oklahoma commitment Drew Sanders and are trying to get him back down College Station. He is considering a Junior Day visit. Another Ryan Raider of interest is DE/TE Ja'tavion Sanders. We've mentioned him a few times, and today, he received offers from Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. He attended the A&M/Arkansas game during the season and I'm hearing the Aggie's interest is picking up even more. Fisher also made stops at Denton Guyer and Denton Braswell. Both are home to 2021 standouts. Top QB Eli Stowers leads the way for Guyer while Braswell is home to OL Erick Cade who already holds an A&M offer.Denton was not the only place Fisher made appearances. He stopped by Hebron (2020 target Darius Snow) and Jesuit (2020 target EJ Smith)It sounds like the visits will continue tomorrow with plans to check in at Duncanville, DeSoto, and Lancaster. All three are hot beds with taken up and down the rosters but here are the guys who already have offers Chris Thompson Ja'Quinden Jackson Lorando Johnson. The Aggies are also getting ready for a big Junior Day in a few weeks, and I am told True Buzz will be in attendance. Signee Dylan Wright played 7-on-7 for True Buzz and the Aggies have their eye on a few other guys in the group. Dallas Carter 2020 DT Branard Wright, Mesquite Horn 2021 LB Kendrick Blackshire, and Weatherford 2020 QB Ken Seals are a few guys we've talked about quite a bit. Also expected are 2020 CB Ryan Watts (6-2, picked up Arkansas offer today), 2020 ATH Jahari Rogers (grabbed offers from SMU, Boston College, and Texas Tech today), one of the top 2020 APBs in Ty Jordan, 2021 WR Jaedon Wilson (younger brother of former DeSoto APB and Ohio State RB Dontre Wilson), 2021 QB Kaidon Salter, and 2021 WR Deamikkio Nathan. A few 2022s you will want to watch are also planning to make the trip in Lewisville WR Armani Winfield (6-2, already holds Baylor and UNT offers), South Grand Prairie RB Savion Red, and DeSoto RB Chris Henley (6-0, 200).

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
