Aggies add elite-ceiling talent with Elam pickup

For quite some time, all signs pointed to Roney Elam becoming an Aggie.

On Friday, the long wait for a patient group of A&M coaches paid off when the Newton blue-chip cover man chose the Aggies over LSU.

At the time of his commitment, Elam also held offers from the likes of Alabama, Oklahoma, TCU, Tech, Baylor, Nebraska, Arkansas and Mississippi State.
