On when she first started playing basketball…

“I was 11, I think 6th grade.”

On memories of picking up a basketball for the first time…

“Trying to dribble the ball under my legs. I used to pick my leg up and do all that and thought I was cool.”

On playing pick up games in her town…

“Yeah, I used to play with the boys on the street. We used to have a hoop right in front of my house and we just used the street as the court.”

On winning a state championship in high school…

“It was very exciting. It was a mini national championship. It meant a lot to us.”

On the biggest culture shock moving from Maryland to Texas…

“The way everyone dressed, it was different. The way they dress is like how we dress for Halloween with like the cowboy outfit with the hat and stuff, it was different for me. I love the weather. Love it. It's much better here.”

On picking A&M after playing at Midland College…

“It was a family atmosphere out here. I felt welcome, wanted and I felt appreciated.”

On the biggest transition from a Junior College to a D1 school…

“The facilities and traveling. We fly charter here and in JUCO we had a mini bus, everything is just way bigger here. We live in apartments here but there we lived in dorms where you could literally put your arm out and touch the other person’s bed.

 On the competition level change between JUCO and D1…

“Oh, it’s way better. It is more physical, much faster and everyone is elite.

On what she likes to do in her spare time…

“I like music. I like to write music and also like to produce music, it’s my hobby.”

On if music is something she wants to pursue after college…

“It is. I eventually want to own my own record label and manage artists.”

On her most memorable experience at A&M…

“It had to have been at Ole Miss last year. It was a crazy timeout and Tavarsha (Scott-Wiliams) was in the game and she came off the court and was supposed to sit down. One of my teammates though accidentally pulled the chair out. This is also on national TV, so everyone can see what’s going on. I thought someone told me to go in for her, so I came in for her and it was just a really chaotic timeout, and just a really funny night.”
