HOOVER, Ala. — The man now leading the Southeastern Conference is much different than his predecessor.
How so?
Former commissioner Mike Slive often quoted Winston Churchill and other great names in history. When he opened SEC Media Days on Monday, Greg Sankey quoted Bob Dylan.
Sankey pointed out that unlike previous SEC commissioners, he has a Twitter account.
"In 1963 there was no Twitter, and incidentally, it was the year before I was born,” Sankey said. “But that year Bob Dylan wrote a song called “The Times, They Are A'Changin’.”
Sankey indicated there would be changes in the SEC. In fact, he’s already been instrumental in pushing through a rule prohibiting teams from accepting transfers that are facing domestic violence charges.
