In the Polls: Texas A&M holds at No. 14 in AP, 15 in Coaches
For now, the Ags are holding steady.
Though Texas A&M struggled with Arkansas and eventually won by a 28-21 score in overtime, Kevin Sumlin's Aggies again came in at No. 14 in the newest Associated Press Poll, released Sunday. The USA Today Coaches Poll ranked A&M No. 15 for the second consecutive week.
The Aggies (4-0), who entered the season unranked before defeating then-No. 15 Arizona State in Houston, opened SEC play at 1-0 and joined Ole Miss, Georgia, LSU and Florida among the conference's teams with still-unblemished records. The Rebels, Bulldogs, Tigers and Gators were ranked Nos. 3, 8, 9 and 25, respectively, in the newest AP Poll.
Overall the SEC placed seven teams in both polls. Alabama was ranked No. 13 in both and Mississippi State — the Aggies' next opponent — re-entered the rankings at Nos. 21 (AP) and 22 (Coaches).
The first College Football Playoff rankings are set to be released on November 3.
