Alex Parker and I visited Charleston and Columbia, South Carolina, a few weeks ago and put together a sneak-peek video of the sights and sounds from our week of "tailgate scouting." You can view the video by clicking the play button on the image above.

The TexAgs Travel package is a great option for Aggies traveling from all over the country who want the convenience of a pre-organized game weekend experience. It covers the hotel room, tailgating, transportation and everything in between. All you need to do is book your flight to Charleston and let TexAgs take care of the rest!

The TexAgs Travel package to South Carolina includes:
  • Two-night hotel stay at the Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel
  • Charter bus transportation between the Charleston airport, hotel and tailgate
  • Private, pre-game tailgate with unlimited food and drinks before and after the game
  • Game ticket in the A&M section

All of the package details, sign up, and full mockup itineraries can be found at TexAgs.com/travel.  *ONLY FOUR SPOTS LEFT!* Also, be sure to RSVP on Facebook

Notes on Charleston and Columbia

  • Our hotel is incredible. It's beautiful on the inside and out, but the best part is that it’s located perfectly in the downtown historic district of Charleston and is within walking-distance from just about everything!
  • Trust me, there are a TON of things to see and do in Charleston. You can visit the local beaches, enjoy a cocktail and watch the sunset over the bridge, go to art galleries, take carriage rides, see and tour historic parks, rent bicycles available at the hotel to utilize around the town, paddle-board at Shem Creek and visit Charleston City Market, Rainbow Row, The Battery Park, King Street and more.
  • The “low-country cuisine” of Charleston is out of this world – some of the BEST seafood and southern comfort food you can get. (We were able to put together a ton of restaurant suggestions and recommendations for the weekend.)
  • Our tailgate spot on the South Carolina State Fairgrounds is perfectly located, has a great view and is right across the street from the stadium.
  • The bus will drop everyone off right at our tailgate and will remain in that parking lot for the entire game.
  • Our tailgate is also conveniently located next to public indoor restrooms that will be available for our group.
  • We’ll have our private tailgate set-up for TexAgs Travelers ONLY with flat screen TVs, a full bar with bartenders and wait staff and fully-catered food spreads before and after the game.
  • Another great perk about TexAgs Travel is that we’ll take care of your transportation for the entire weekend in South Carolina, so there's no need to worry about finding a sober ride home from the tailgate.

This is an extremely affordable travel option when you consider everything the package includes, along with the quality of our trips, the removal of the hassle of having to plan your own trip and the fact that you’re traveling with a great group of Aggies and a super-fun TexAgs crew! But really, we always have a great group on these trips and want to see you there!

There are only four spots left, so register today at TexAgs.com/travel

Please be aware that we did this two years ago and the bus driver did not know how to get into the stadium and we arrived at game time. Also he told us to meet him at a gate and we met at that gate at the football stadium while the bus was at the same number gate as the Fair Grounds.

Yes, I've heard that bus parking and traffic in Columbia can be difficult after games. The nice thing about our trip is that our bus will be parked right at our tailgate spot, so there won't be any problems finding it after the game. Also, our TexAgs Travel tailgate is right along the edge of the Fairgrounds, which will make it easy to get on the road and get out of town after the game. I met with tailgate operations on my trip to SC a few weeks ago and figured out the best route to avoid traffic.. so this should go as smoothly as possible!
