It was mid-September of 1999 and No. 22 Arizona State was anticipating a typical blowout victory against an over-matched non-conference opponent.

New Mexico State had other ideas.

Quarterback K.C. Enzminger passed for 205 yards and two touchdowns and New Mexico State rushed for 363 to pull off a stunning 35-7 upset.

It remains the only victory over a ranked opponent in New Mexico State history.
