You get hot, and you stay hot. The Aggies had no problem lighting a fire against Stephen F. Austin, who came in with a season record of 0-5, and Missouri State, 3-4 and holding it to them as they claimed two more wins on the season in their first two games of the Texas A&M Invitational.

No. 17 Texas A&M imprved to 7-0, beating SFA 8-0 and then blanking Missouri State 5-0.

In the first game against the Ladyjacks, the Aggies wasted no time getting several runs on the board. In the bottom of the first inning, Kaitlyn Alderink walked, then stole second. Ashley Walters singled through the right side sending Alderink to third. Show then flied out to center field, where Alderink tagged up and scored.

The action intensified from there.

In the bottom of the second inning, Riley Sartain and Erica Russell both walked. Milligan reached on a fielder's choice, Russell advanced to second and Sartain was thrown out at third. Milligan then advanced to second and Russell advanced to third. Alderink moved to second on a wild pitch, and Milligan and Russell both scored due to an error by the catcher.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning, the Aggies put on quite a show as Sarah Hudek walked, then stole second. Russell reached on a throwing error by the shortstop and Hudek scored. Russell stole second, then Milligan tripled to left field, and Russell scored. Alderink singled through the left side scoring Milligan. Alderink stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Vandals singled to left, and Alderink. Show grounded out with two runners left on base to end the inning.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Kristen Cuyos walked (Blake-Ann Fritsch pinch ran for Cuyos). Fritsch stole second. Sartain walked. Erica Russell grounded out to third, pushing Sartain to second and Frisch to third. Keeli Milligan singled to left field bringing Fritsch home. The Aggies clinched the win against SFA 8-0.

Though the first few innings of the second game were a bit quiet, when the game got good it stayed good.

In the bottom of the third inning, Alderink singled to left field, and Vidales walked. Walters then stepped up to the plate with confidence and hit a three-run home run.

The bottom of the fourth inning brought more excitement as Sarah Hudek singled through the right side and advanced to second on a fielder's choice. Sartain then hit a home run to right center, scoring Hudek.

The Aggies went to work and put on quite the show this evening, but they aren’t finished yet. They will be back in action Saturday at the Aggie Softball Complex at 12:15 p.m. against New Mexico then will square off against Missouri State again at 3:00 p.m.
